All about the Magdalena River 7 Day Canoe Tour.

This experience is a 7 day canoe trail exploring one of Colombia’s biggest rivers the Magdalena. We will be canoeing a distance of  190 kilometers At the end of each day we shall be relaxing with friends and your new family to discuss the day’s adventures at one of our chosen locations on the banks of the river. Each night we will explore a new town along the river banks and give you the opportunity to see local customs and emerge yourselves into the local culture. Each day we will hope to travel 30km to 63km and each night we will stay in local accommodation.

The days during your tour begin by breakfast then checking your equipment.

But here the similarity ends, as each day is characterized by the route taken and the company of the group.

You will be travelling through the wide expanses of the Magdalena River, often called “Colombia’s first trade route”, with very good chances to see the abundant fauna and wildlife during the day, you will get to enjoy the pure air and a unique tranquility.

There are a number of possible locations for overnight accommodation along the route – the choice of local accommodation used and route followed will vary depending on factors such as weather conditions and water levels and groups distance covered.

Some of the overnight locations have much better facilities. Weather and water conditions will influence the level of challenge and distance covered in a typical day.

After a typical breakfast and packing your bag in the morning and making preparations to leave the accommodation, you will be on the river by around 08:00am, reaching your destination sometime in the early evening.
